This is Malaika, arguably the most well-known cheetah on the planet. She rose to fame through the BBC series Big Cat Diaries and has since become an icon of African wildlife photography. In this scene, her young cub plays on the savannah nearby while Malaika watches every step with calm focus. From her high vantage point, she surveys the plains for potential threats or perhaps the promise of breakfast. Unfortunately, Malaika is no longer with us.
