#112 - Kovu - Leopard Print
Laikipia, Kenya - 2025
This portrait shows Kovu, a leopard also known as Scarface, who lives around Laikipia Wilderness Camp in Kenya. His scarred face tells the story of survival in the wild, a life shaped by battles and the constant challenge of holding territory.
Although far from certain, Kovu is believed to possibly be the father of Giza Mrembo’s cubs, the female black leopard who has become one of Laikipia’s most remarkable cats. This connection makes him part of a unique story that continues to unfold across the Laikipia landscape.
Printed as a limited edition fine art piece on archival paper, this work carries both presence and permanence. The detail in his eyes and the texture of his rosettes come alive on paper, making the image as powerful in print as it was in the field.
Bring home a portrait of resilience, mystery, and wild beauty with Kovu.
