This image was captured at the same time as 'Titanic.' Unlike our first encounter in 2022, Craig was in an open and expansive area, providing a perfect setting enhanced by a brewing storm on the horizon, which added a dramatic and majestic quality to the sky. The result was a scene that perfectly suited fine art elephant photography, where mood and scale come together to tell a powerful story.
 
Craig, known for his gentle demeanor, is a truly special elephant. During this shoot, I aimed to diversify my approach, capturing both close-up portraits with a wide-angle lens and wider shots that included more of his habitat. This close-up quickly became one of my favorites. It features a low angle, a wide perspective, and those incredible clouds in the background, all elements that I often seek in my wildlife photography art. The image later became part of my limited edition elephant print collection and remains one of my most popular African wildlife prints, celebrating the quiet strength and grandeur of this iconic elephant.
