Kalahari, South Africa - 2017

In this intriguing image, captured using the Intentional Camera Movement (ICM) technique, the world blurs into a dreamy abstraction. At the center, a secretary bird stands, its form elegantly softened, merging with the surrounding landscape. Behind her, an object catches the eye, resembling an egg yet revealed as merely a stone upon closer inspection.

This visual ambiguity is a testament to the ethereal quality of the ICM technique, where sharp lines and clear details give way to flowing shapes and blended colors. The secretary bird, typically known for its striking plumage and precise movements, here becomes part of a fluid canvas, symbolizing the seamless connection between the animal and its environment.

This is an award-winning piece of artwork.
